Academic Counselling
TIS provides academic counselling to assist high school students in reaching their academic potential and post-secondary goals.
Our counselling department believes strongly in university “fit”, where students research holistically about which schools are suitable for them, rather than relying solely on rankings or other single measures. TIS provides a wide array of courses through the Alberta curriculum which gives students experiences in multiple areas, enabling them to find their true passion.
Every fall, the TIS Counselling Department holds a University Fair which hosts over 70 universities from many different countries. The annual event provides students from TIS with important information about degree programs, the university application process, and scholarship opportunities. It also allows students to meet university representatives face to face, find out what admissions officers want, and attend university seminars and presentations. Students are able to ask questions first-hand and also learn more about universities they had not previously considered.
